Phantom thieves
ermm erm this is still a huge wip but i just really wanna yap abt thieves y.y
I am also so sorry if any of this information is wrong, i am fueled by autism as i write these paragraphs.
What is a phantom thief ?
A phantom thief, often also called a gentleman thief, or master thief, uses their skill and charm to steal something they set their eyes on. Their targets are usually novelty or expensive items.
A recourring trait is also having a strong moral code. Like only stealing from rich people, or not resorting to murder. It's not rare for them to have a detective or inspector rival.
My introduction to the trope !
Okay this is going to be my autism backstory. It all begins at me, 7 years old watching Detective Conan on Animax. Then later, at 14 years of age i remembered this anime. To my suprise it was still ongoing and curiousity got the best of me ! I started binging it. Then as i watched Detective Conan, Kaito Kid appeared in an episode.
I completely loved him ! Of course i had to watch the Magic Kaito specials and Magic Kaito 1412 ! I completely fell in the 'kaitou' trope ^_^!!! I wanted to indulge in more phantom thief media so i scoured the net.
My next thing was Rhythm thief ! I begged my mother to buy it for me and she did ! Oh i love that game so much its so corny and silly !!!!
At this time i also started watching a persona 5 playtrough, but i thankfully dropped it. In the years following i aquired a Switch, and i was lucky enough that Persona 5 Royal came out on that :D !!! It took me like 2 years to beat the game because of school, and taking long breaks. But oohhh how i love that game as well ! I love playing as a phantom thief ! AOUGH !

About
Kaito Kid is from a manga named Magic Kaito; which first started in... 1987; and it's still on going.
Kaito is an average high school student, who's father, Kuroba Toichi was a famous magician. Toichi taught Kaito all his tricks, until one day there was an accident and he 'died' in a fire. His son was merely 8 years old.
Later in life ~8-9 years after his fathers death Kaito discovers a hidden room in his home, and learns his father was an internationally wanted Phantom thief, known as Kaito number 1412. This leads him to take on the Kaitou 1412/KID persona.
His main reason of theft is finding the murderers of his father. The killers want to find a rumored gemstone named pandora, which supposedly grants the owner eternal youth. Pandora is found, when a gemstone under the full moon's light cries, and the tears shed grant immortanilty.
He's also one to accept challenges, when gemstone collector, Suzuki Jirokichi provokes him to steal this and that. (This is ok with Jirokichi because he does it for the fame). Kaito ? I think after a while he geniuenly adapts an addiction to the thrill and adrenaline. And he likes showing off his skill as a magician thief.

KAITOOOO !!! My blorbo i love him so much he's such a silly guy. And it's so interesting to see how he's so different as his regular and thief self. He's going through SO much but it's never shown.
I ALSO HATE that his father turned out to be alive, it's literally so dumb i will hate Kuroba Toichi forever. AND if that wouldn't be enough, Kaito's mother is also awful. She literally leaves her son alone, to do ?? whatever ?? in america. UGH... poor kaito :(

About
Rhythm thief is a rhythm game about Phantom R trying to learn the truth behind his fathers disappearance.
Raphael is from france. His main motivation to being a phantom thief is returning stolen artworks to the louvre. His father was a thief as well, who stole various artworks with a mysterious symbol relating to Napoleon Bonaparte (Yes, THE french emperor).
On his journey with his dog sidekick, Fondue, we get to meet some other characters in Raphaels life. Such as Inspector Vergier, a police officer after his trail, and Charlie vergier, whos just as determined to catch Phantom R and her father.
We also meet a girl named Marie, who has an interesting connection to the previously mentioned mysterious symbol.
'Rhythm Thief and the emperors treasure' came out on the 3DS in 2013(japan)/2014(worldwide).In the game there's all kinds of rhythm games, and musical puzzles the player has to complete.

He is soooo sweet and kind and corny, i love him and Fondue and everyone from Rhythm thief so much :(( !!!
Rhythm thief and the emperors treasure HAS to be one of my biggest comfort games. And i am forever sad i can not play Paris Caper (which came out on the iOs) since that got discontinued...

I think he's super cool !! I think the ability to steal people's hearts/desires is suuuuch a good idea. I love the execution of the metaverse. I do have some nitpicks about the game, but i enjoyed it over all. I am so happy to have phantom thief games around !

First and foremost..... yeah he is a phantom thief...
My first main point proving that is the japanese title of 'Despicable Me' is '怪盗グルーの月泥棒' ( kaitō gurū no tsuki dorobō ) which means something along the lines of, kaitou gru's moon theft. He's literally a kaitou... IT'S FUNNY BUT I'M RIGHT !!!
About
Felonious Gru is a master thief who studied in a school of villiany. With his skills and help of his minions he successfully stole a shrink ray. Which he later on used to briefly take the moon itself for himself. Later on he adopts three orphan girls, then falls in love with a woman. He gives up villiany and joint the Anti Villian Leauge.

It's been a while since i've watched the movies. I feel like the first movie the best out of the franchise. I think he should've stayed a single father of the girls, and i lowkey think he's aroace coded too. The most recent fourth movie sucked, they did NOT need to have a baby !!!!!!! The only saving point of the fourth movie is that the heist scene was funny and corny !!!
ALSO in the fourth movie, the cockroach guy literally just wanted his cockroackgender affirmed and transition into a roach !! He just wanted to live and then he got shat on by everyone ????? haters all around him /silly
