    Civilian self

    Damian Cunningham

In his daily life, Phantomiau is Tala. Phantomiau is an outlet to express a need for performance.

    Personality

Phantomiau is charming, playful and carefree ! In-character he likes to be up in peoples faces, boasting about previous appearances. He's flirtatious, charming and well spoken. He's not afraid to lie and even manipulates others when needed. He likes executing his previously planned heists. And even when said plan fails, he can quickly think of different approaches on the spot. He truly thrives on being impulsive and improvisation.

He is agile and strong, his hands are very dexterous. Skilled in lock picking, pick pocketing, sleight-of-hand, deception. Has difficulty with disguises since he's so short, but that does not deter him from trying. His short stature helps with hiding in smaller places.

The more time he takes in between appearances, the more clumsy he becomes. This is due to 'falling a bit out of character' and dissociation/derealisation. In this fragile state, he tends to be oblivious of his surroundings. His quick wit does get him out of trouble when needed though.

    Background

Insert cool and epic origin story here /j

OK so like, tala has this compulsion for theft and performance yeah. And until the Phantomiau character he felt REALLY AWFUL, getting panic attacks because of his disconnect from reality; so he has to invent this character who's confident and stuff; who he can perform as. And it really divulged into him thieving because of this performed confidence.

The artworks he steals usually include paintings, and small replica statuettes. He always returns these to the museum after doing an artistic study. Valuables he gets his hands on are often stolen for show and compulsion. Of course, with anything else, he returns these too. There may be rare instances he holds onto treasures, but there's usually a reason for it. Some valuables may be returned to their true owners when the option is possible.

Because tala struggles grasping reality. He lives in his own head and feels like he's just a character. His friends look at him weird when he talks about life with video game/movie terminology, especially when he projects these onto them. The Phantomiau ego also helps with this since he gets a bit more grounded in reality, because he has a separate "character" to play in his head.

    Relationships

Nobody really can get close to Phantomiau emotionally, since he's just an alter ego. There’s just one person who he's interested in getting more close to.

    Khristoffer Krahn

Khris is the detective apprentice, who was tasked to catch him. Phantomiau likes teasing him about it. Phantomiau always keeps his physical distance from him whenever he isn't trying to wear a disguise. Loves to be playful with him, even though Khris seems to get way too invested in the entire ordeal.

    Head of Museum (Khris' mother)

Sylvia Krahn is the head of the museum he likes to frequently borrow items from. He tries to be as respectful to her as he can be, though he may give some backhanded remarks from time to time. Sylvia is very annoyed by Phantomiau's "stupid little comedy nights", but she does admit that more people attend the museum, so she doesn't mind it that much.

    Design notes

Phantomiau is short, he wears a hood with fur and a pair of ears on it. He also wears paws made out of minky, a tail and a mint colored bell as decoration. The bell on his neck does not work.

He wears a maroon/burgundy suit with mint accents, along with a navy pair of pants. His sneakers match the color of his suit. The soles of his shoes have little paw pads on them, and the top of the shoes is decorated with lines that make the sneakers looks like paws. Phantomiau may agree that formal shoe wear would be more fitting, but he values his agility a bit more than looks.
