Khristoffer Krahn
Detective apprentice working on the case of a audacious criminal.
Personality
Khris struggles with showing emotion and tone of voice. He is often read as cold and rude. Due to his poor emotional regulation, Khris can have outbursts of anger, especially when things doesn't go the way he imagined. They never learned how to express emotions (due to emotionally distant parents), therefore he tends to bottle everything up.
In their free time Khris indulges in books and fanfiction, he especially likes the mystery genre. He uses fiction as escapism from reality. This way he can live out his fantasy of being someone who uncovers the truth. Khris also likes origami, and other little things that occupy his hands. This is a form of subconscious stimming for him. He especially likes folding cranes while talking to someone. This is also an excuse to avoid eye contact, which he struggles with.
Khris frequents bakeries, since they have a sweet tooth for pastries, and he won't hesitate to invite a friend with themselves either. It's usually him who pays for all their meals, because he doesn't care about his parents' money he's spending.
Enjoys quiet rainy afternoons in his room, with a good book. Dislikes huge crowds and noise.
Background
Khris comes from a family of high expectations. They are the sole child of their parents, who put a lot of expectations on him. His mother works as the curator of the town's museum. His father works overseas, mainly in stock exchange. Khris resents their parents, as they tend to be very neglecting towards their only child. Parents mostly focus on work, money and success, while Khris values emotional connection. Khris still tries to see the good in his family, because they "want the best for him."
Khris has a tight knit friend group, consisting of Tala, and Zahir [...more to come soon :3] who they met in high school. He is very introverted and shy, so it was hard to make friends for him. Khris recalls they became friends when they decided to sit together at lunch. The others were talking about a murder scene, and Khris couldn't stop himself from info dumping about it. The friend group is fresh out of high school by now. They can't have lunch together anymore, but they still hang out together sometimes. Usually at Tala's place or go on walks at the park.
Khris is working on the case of Phantomiau, an artful thief, who usually threatens to steal artworks and other goods from the local museum. He dislikes the case at first, because it was his mother who put him up for this once he got accepted for the apprenticeship. However Phantomiau is going to charm them as well, and he becomes interested in uncovering the true identity and motives of Phantomiau.
Later in life he becomes a private detective. ((With a hobby of writing short novels about, romance ? Maybe,?)) He dislikes the police and actively works on cases where criminals are a part of the police force.
Relationships
In his life Khris struggles initiating relationships, but he still has his fair share of connections to others.
Damian Cunningham (Tala)
Tala is one of Khris' best friends. They like to crack jokes at each others expense because of their shared comfort with one another. Zahir thinks it's so obvious they have a crush on each other. (Or at least that Khris has a crush on Tala?) Later in life Tala is the one that encourages Khris to try out writing novels.
Zahir A. Moor
Khris confides his deeper feelings in Zahir. They both enjoy emotional, almost philosophical conversations that reach into the night.
Phantomiau
At first Khris despises being put on Phantomiau's case, but later on his curiosity and anger towards the thief starts to grow. Later on, he gets more and more interested in catching Phantomiau, out of pure anger towards him and his own mother as well.
Mother
Mother who puts too much pressure on him. Is head of the local museum. She's the one who made Khris investigate Phantomiau. Their conversations are very surface level.
Father
Father who works in stocks ? Or some other high paying job. Is away 80% of the time due to "meetings".
Design notes
Khris is tall, has light brown (almost blonde), neck length wavy hair, he has dull green eyes.
They wear mostly formal attire. Khris thinks of clothing choices as important. Their colors are mostly dully earthy tones. His parents are usually the one to get him clothing, which is always expensive. Wants to try new styles but scared of his mother's disappointment.
